St Francis of Assisi Church of England Primary School opened in September 2002 as a Voluntary Aided school to support the local community and working closely with the Diocese of York. We benefited from a major extension in 2014 so that we are now a two form entry school. In August 2019, we became part of the Dales Multi Academies Trust with a range of church schools in Stockton and North Yorkshire. The school enjoys, and benefits from an extremely close relationship with St Francis of Assisi church, the Diocese of York. The relationships with all these stakeholders gives the school a unique character and provides excellent support.
Our school admits pupils between the ages of three and eleven years. Children are admitted into the Reception Class each September. All part time education before admittance into the Reception Class takes place in the school’s Nursery class. Together these two year groups (Nursery and Reception) are termed the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’.
Our Nursery works a split week with children either attending all day Monday, Tuesday and finishing on Wednesday at end of morning session or Wednesday afternoon then all day Thursday and Friday. The Nursery children either bring a packed lunch or have a school lunch during their full days. Parents need to apply for a Reception class place via Stockton Local Authority. Please be aware that admission into Nursery does not guarantee a Reception place.
Here is a copy of our Nursery application form. Please return this via email or bring to the school office. A paper copy can be provided should you wish.
